Outpouring of compassion for deputy overwhelming
I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank all the people of Lee County and the surrounding area for the kindness and love shown to my daughter and grandchildren in the recent death of Deputy James Anderson.
The outpouring of support for the family has been overwhelming. Thanks to all of the law enforcement officers and firefighters who showed their respect to James as he was laid to rest.

The tributes by Smiths Station High School and Auburn University at their football games were something that James would have loved. Also, thanks to the news media for respecting the privacy of the family.

The flowers sent by the Alabama coach Nick Saban and his family meant more than anyone will ever know, especially to his son, Kristopher, who shares his dad’s passion for Alabama football.

A very special thanks to Sheriff Jay Jones and every deputy of the Lee County Sheriff’s Department. They have been there constantly for the family and have met their every need. James considered all of his co-workers his friends, but there were a few special friends that he considered part of his family and they will always hold a special place in our hearts. God Bless each and every one of you and Roll Tide.
