There’s not enough room to list Obama’s poor associations
Pulling into a local restaurant the other day, I shook my head at the “Obama 08” sticker prominently displayed on the car parked beside me.

I wanted to ask the driver, “How’s that hope and change working out for you?” or tell him, “Thanks a lot!”

What world do these Obama supporters live in? Restricted space in this letter doesn’t allow me to break down all of Obama’s questionable associations. But one organization our leader can’t distance himself from is ACORN.

This the same ACORN to which he paid $800,000 on the campaign trail and the same ACORN that stands to gain billions in ill-passed stimulus cash money that could be directed toward health care issues or a variety of other worthy causes.

The Census Bureau finally wised up and distanced itself from ACORN, relieving them of their services for the 2010 Census. Our commander in chief still hasn’t spoken out against ACORN or its deplorable practices.

That’s disappointing but should have been expected when you consider this guy has been forced to apologize to Special Olympians and hold a beer summit to make another sticky situation go away.

My fear is that ACORN was behind fraudulent votes in the previous election. The events surrounding ACORN are sickening.

But the liberal media is doing its best to conceal this, just like it concealed the noble efforts of those who gathered in Washington last weekend to voice opposition to big government and frivolous spending.

Even this publication, located in a conservative haven, all but chose to ignore those patriots who respectfully attended the rally.

But then again, newspapers have nothing to worry about. Obama will be giving his liberal friends in the print media a bailout any day now.

And Congress likely won’t even review the bill before they pass it.

Justus, I’m still asking you to back up your claims, especially your earlier “I am not sure Obama really won the election” submission, with some authority. I’ll agree irregularities exist in nearly all elections yet those questioning this one have some rather daunting numbers to overcome as they make these bold claims.

And when no responsible, or even irresponsible for that matter, organization seems to be making said claim, isn’t it perfectly fair to ask either you and/or jeff82 to further explain your argument or merely share a link or authority?

In this piece you added, “Also the revelations of ACORN is there for all to see.“  We didn’t see voter fraud did we?  And neither did we see other ACORN offices that bounced these young folks out or even called the police.

As far as the trend of not giving sources, I often do initially share mine and frankly feel obligated to provide the same when challenged.

In the initial letter from Mr. Jones he wrote “... the same ACORN that stands to gain billions in ill-passed stimulus cash money”.  I shared a FactCheck.org citation in questioning that comment but I’ve yet to have anyone offer a competing analysis.

jeff82 dismissed the use of a NYT’s link I thought I’d shared yet in looking back it appears I never provided.  Duh!  But here’s a chance. I chose it because it was relatively short and sweet, plus a bit removed from the current news. I do hope if one dismisses any or all of the piece they will engage the reporting and explicitly counter what is incorrect with more than a “It ‘aint so!“.  Please see http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/11/us/politics/11acorn.html?_r=1

Finally, in another thread, your equating a person’s sexuality with an act of pedophilia frankly stunned me.

Capt. Plaid:
You can do your research the same way I did. I was not writing a book but I got all of what I say from searches such as google and going to local newspapers through Newslink.org. I have notebooks full of stuff and probably could write a book but I am not able or capable. Most of what is being presented on the Conservative shows I have already read and heard by the above mentioned means. I doubt there is such a thing as an honest election. For most of my life I was a Democrat and have been elected as a Democrat. The area in which I live is 90% or higher Democrat. I have never lived in a local area that was majority Republican so I cant really speak for Republicans. I tell you I have worked the polls and watched things that were challenged and not taken care of properly. My wife and I observed fraud at a poll this last election and reported it to the state and testified before the local election board and nothing was done and from their reply it showed fraud. All I can tell you is what I have seen and read. I am convinced from my own knowledge of the Democrat voter fraud and I have never observed it from Republicans but I have never been around them so it doesnt mean it dosen’t happen. For years I have read
in the news media of more people in areas voting than were on the rolls and I have always seen it in high Democrat areas never in Republican ones but again I dont say it doesnt happen. Also the revelations of Acorn is there for all to see. I spend more than 5 hours a day reading sources on the internet and newspapers and make my mind up accordingly. I use my expierence of working in the public for well over forty years to draw my conclusions. Most quotes in these type rooms do not give resources. I am well aware you are a progressive and so be it. I consider myself moderate to conservative. I have two sons that are libertarians and my daughter is very Independant.

Justis, Would you be willing to share your sources for these many claims?  You’ve mentioned the “fringe media” in another thread and I trust you’re getting your information from elsewhere.

Jeff82 also referenced claims of vote fraud, even going so far as to suggest McCain outright lost states due to their nefarious deeds. And now you are running with this argument.

I’ll copy in what I asked him: “I’d also appreciate some sources on this “we got robbed” via “fake votes” argument.  Given the numbers, 365 to 173 electoral votes and a 9.5 million vote gap in the popular, and the fact that I’ve yet to read any such claim, I’d love a link to your authority Jeff82.  You’ve got to give McCain FL’s 27, OH’s 20, NC’s 15, VA’s 13, IN’s 11, and MO’s 11 to get him to 270.  Some of those weren’t really that close.  Please indulge us Sir!“

Can you reconcile those numbers with your claim that our election wasn’t legit?

I like to think I keep up with the right’s Mighty Wurlitzer message machine but I’ve missed allegations that President Obama ruined Chicago low income housing.

And Justus, Obama’s community organizing work ended before he went to Harvard Law, where he incidentally chaired the Law Review.

Finally, you wrote “... they can win because we have become a nation of something for nothing rather than one that works for a living.“  I was a lukewarm supporter of Obama/Biden yet one certain thing I do admire about both the President and his bride is that they came from rather humble roots, excelled academically, and worked their way up. For whatever it’s worth, they seem to be good parents and have a dynamic marriage.

While I do recall coverage of goofy supporters, a blight that infects either team, I am frankly lost on this idea that a “something for nothing” spirit can be associated with this administration.  If willing, please also explain your thinking here.

Jeff82,hang in there sucking a lemon is better that what Obama is doing to this country. A lemon will take the stench away I suppose. After recent revelations about Acorn I am not sure Obama really won the election and I am not certain he is really legally entitled to be President. I had to show a birth certificate to go in the Army, get a Drivers license and marriage license. I even had to produce one to get my social security so what is wrong with a President producing one. By the way this crowd will throw up George Bush which has nothing to do with Obama, they both are incompetent. I researched Obama as far as one could before the election and if the media had not been so aglow over him they could have found out about him but he was their savior so we have him. He has never done anything of significance other than community organize which is what put him in office. He left Chicago’s low income housing in a shambles. It was worse than when he begun. He funneled millions to his friends and the likes of Acorn according to what I read. A ChicagoHospital created and gave his wife a job and she redirected poor people from there to other places to keep them from losing money. When she left ,the hospital cut the job out. Obama is surrounded by the most radical folks in America and most of them are Communist or Socialist leaning and they can win because we have become a nation of something for nothing rather than one that works for a living. America will surely fall if we do not change directions. We are being overrun by illegals and lazy folk.

“Foolish” “Go suck a lemon” Now that sounds like a chip on ones shoulder.

Jeff 82 I pity you because you walk around like you got a CHIP on your shoulder, but in all fairness what you are saying right now is FOOLISH.  You are entitled to your opinion and no can take that from you.  But the majority of people put OBAMA in office, but is only trying to Straightening out what BUSH made a MESS of in the first place.  Go suck on a lemon because at the END of the day OBAMA is OUR president of the United States whether you VOTED for him or NOT.

“Provasek”

Do you have facts to support your claims? Are those statements suppositions or merely lines regurgitated from Fahrenheit 9/11?

Flag Comment Posted by Provasek on October 03, 2009 at 12:27 am

If you have ever played the “Six Dregrees of Kevin Bacon” exercise, you can always come up with “questionable associations” for any target you want to demonize. The Bush family was business partners with the Bin Ladens, and while every airplane in the country was grounded in the days after 9/11, the Bid Laden family members in America were spirited back to Saudi Arabia on military charter planes before they could be questioned by the FBI! How’s that for questionable associations? You people stand up and scream and yell and make up lies because your guy didn’t win the election…and some of you are even calling for a military coup to remove Obama. You would prefer a military dictatorship to a president chosen by a majority of the people. It’s time for the majority of Americans who believe in respecting the office of the President even if they did not vote for him—to call you out for the BAD CITIZENS and TRAITORS that your are.

I goofed up the Salon link but at least that gives me a chance to use my favorite link shortening tool.  Please see http://bit.ly/1JfqzK for the work.

In there you’ll find the following:  “ ... I can assure you that these texts are not the psychotic, fact-challenged rants of the mad, but carefully crafted metafictions in which the mundane terrors of cultural dislocation are recast as riveting epics of paranoia” plus “Paranoia is a ... peculiar constellation of symptoms—grandiosity, suspicion, unfounded hostility, delusions of persecution and conspiracy ...“.
