People in Auburn took local family under its wing
This past week, when one of their students, 8-year-old Yuli Ruelas passed away suddenly, the Richland Elementary staff and parents mobilized quickly to help the grieving family.

From providing all the food for the family, taking over funeral arrangements, shopping for a special dress for Yuli and her sister, to a lovely dinner following the funeral Mass, to a collection of donations to help defray the funeral cost — the PTA reached out to bestow blessings on all involved.

The teachers also presented a photo album and CD of Yuli’s two years at the school to the family: all of this in less than three days.

The caring, love and generosity shown was overwhelming. As we have often said, “Only in Auburn!”

With deep gratitude and thanks to all.

Donations in memory of Yuli Ruelas may be made to the Richland PTA, 770 Yarborough Farms Blvd., Auburn, AL 36830
