Nice showing by Georgia fans with the Blackout. I’d say about 96.3 percent of Bulldog faithful are decked out in black. But there is a large number of orange in the stands.
The entire upper deck across from the press box is All Auburn, All Orange ... plus there’s a few thousand AU fans in the end zone next to the Tigers’ band.
Nine minutes before kickoff and we’re waiting patiently to see if Georgia will come out in black jerseys. There’s been some rumors (Auburn folks know a little about rumors this week) that the Dawgs will don black to go with the fans’ Blackout. We’ll see ...

One more reason to love the Sanford Stadium Press Box ... space heaters. Yes. My feet and legs are nice and toasty thanks to the heaters. It is a beautiful thing.
43 minutes until kickoff. We’re ready here at the Lazy Blog.
And fittingly Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” is playing ... Can you feel it?

Here in Seat 120 of Sanford Stadium’s press box ... the Dan Magill Press Box.
It’s a beautiful day for football. I forgot how much I love this stadium. Seriously. It’s underground, you actually have to walk down steps to get into the press box. Usually, you’ve got to go up a lot—A LOT!!!—of steps to get to a stadium press box. Not here. One more reason it gets my vote.
Today’s Auburn-Georgia game is going to be a good one. I know I’m going out on a limb here, but I think this game has potential to be one of the best of Auburn’s season ... and that would be a tall order.
Anyway, sit back, relax and get ready for a Classic in the Classic City.

It happened. It was just a matter of time.
I heard my first Christmas song of the “Holiday Season” today. That’s right. Nov. 8 Silent Night. Aaron Neville style. That’s right.
I was in Wal-Mart, picking up a few things for the Busy Girl, and BAM!, there it was. And Aaron Neville no less. It couldn’t have been Bing Crosby or Elvis or even Alvin and the Chipmunks. Nooooooooo ... it had to be Neville.
What’s going on here?
I’m all about Christmas. No doubt. Celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, yes, I’m all about that. And it doesn’t even have to be Dec. 25.
But playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving? Come on. I’m sorry, but that’s too soon. At this rate, we’re going to be having a Fourth of July parade in March.
It’s just not right. Sorry. Can we at least wait until December? Or at the earliest Thanksgiving week? Do I have to write my congressman? Anything to make it stop. ANYTHING!!!

Third-string quarterback Blake Field entered the game with 2:01 to play in the first half.
His first pass was dropped by Tim Hawthorne. His second pass was a 9-yard catch by Tommy Trott.
Field’s third pass was dropped by Robert Dunn.
Second-string quarterback Kodi Burns didn’t complete a pass in his first, and only, series of the first half. Burns, did however, run for 11 yards.
For my money, Field is the better backup.
First, he’s been in the system for four years. Second, he’s a pure-passer, something Burns has struggled with. And, third, he knows the entire offense.
Just seems like he’s the guy you’d want in a situation where you need to move the football, get some points and/or win a game if your starter gets hurt.
Just saying ...
