Still no word on Tuberville

I’ve been camped out here at the Auburn Athletic Complex for a few hours now—counting an hour lunchbreak—and there is nothing new to report about the status of Tommy Tuberville.

There is no official word on whether or not he is meeting with athletic director Jay Jacobs and president Dr. Jay Gogue today. If he isn’t, it couldn’t be much later in the week, as an affirmation to the positive or negative is pretty much necessary as soon as possible. I’ve sent an e-mail to an aide of Gogue’s, asking whether or not he is meeting with Tuberville today, and I have yet to receive a response.

Two things to note on my stay so far here today.

When I walked in around 11:45, I saw Jacobs walking from his office toward the academic wing of the complex. We exchanged hellos before he took out his cell phone and continued walking.

Also, multiple signs have been posted on the front doors of the complex, reading that there is a team meeting tomorrow at 8 a.m. These signs were not up when I arrived in the late morning. Not that this has anything to do with Tuberville—or could it?—but I found that to be interesting. I also found it interesting that the “Sexual Harassment Seminar” scheduled for today and tomorrow has been rescheduled for a later date. I’m assuming that has less to do with Tuberville than the first sign.

Rest assured, when news breaks, this will be the first place I will put it.
