If I had readers they’d be outraged.
As of right now I’m not crazy about the way this season is shaping up. At this point we pretty much know the title game is going to be either Alabama or Florida facing Texas.
Either way, though, it should be a good game. So we’ve got that going for us.
Here are last week’s rankings:
1. Alabama
2. Florida
3. Texas
4. Virginia Tech
5. Miami
6. USC
7. TCU
8. Boise State
9. Ohio State
10. Cincinnati
11. Iowa
12. LSU
13. Oregon
14. Penn State
15. Oklahoma
16. South Florida
17. Georgia Tech
18. Kansas
19. Nebraska
20. BYU
21. South Carolina
22. Oklahoma State
23. Notre Dame
24. Auburn
25. Oregon State
And now this week’s If I Had A Vote Rankings.
1. Alabama
They’re going to have to get the offense straightened out at some point, but a defense like that cures a lot of ills.
2. Florida
I’m not sure if they’re even better than Texas right now, but I couldn’t quite stomach ranking them third.
3. Texas
Not as good as last year, but plenty good enough to run the table from here.
4. Cincinnati
Yeah, I’m surprised, too.
5. USC
Probably better than Cincy, but the Bearcats haven’t lost.
6. Iowa
They just keep plugging along.
7. Miami
Punished for Tech’s loss.
8. TCU
Big challenge this week at BYU.
9. Boise State
They keep winning and I keep dropping them.
10. Georgia Tech
Win their offense is clicking you can’t stop them.
11. Oregon
Quack.
12. LSU
They can probably beat Auburn without throwing a pass. And maybe they shouldn’t.
13. Penn State
Can they win in Ann Arbor for the first time since 1995?
14. Virginia Tech
Going to have to hope for a three-way tie and some shenanigans now.
15. BYU
Still not crazy about this team.
16. Oklahoma State
Without Dez Bryant they’re going to be in trouble.
17. Utah
The loss to Oregon doesn’t seem so bad now.
18. Houston
Maybe they won’t get shellacked by another Conference USA team.
19. West Virginia
They should be undefeated.
20. Pittsburgh
They’ll fall out soon enough.
21. Ohio State
Big problems in Columbus.
22. Oklahoma
It’s a shame the Sooners’ season has played out the way it has.
23. Oregon State
This isn’t a bad team.
24. South Florida
No shame in losing to a very good Cincy team.
25. Texas Tech
This team might be better than I thought.
Dropped out: No. 18 Kansas, No. 19 Nebraska, No. 21 South Carolina, No. 23 Notre Dame, No. 24 Auburn
Just missed the cut: Kansas, Arizona, South Carolina
