Fans in town for the Auburn-LSU football game are invited to come out to the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum today as the Auburn women’s basketball team holds an open practice from 2-3 p.m.

Tiger fans can get their first look at the team, fresh off a 20-12 season and an appearance in the 2008 NCAA Tournament. Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Nell Fortner, Auburn returns four starters from last season, including honorable mention All-American DeWanna Bonner.

“We are just excited to see the season around the corner,” Fortner said. “Right now we are able to work with all of our kids for two hours a week and we are excited to use one of those hours on Saturday for our fans to come out and see us.

“We hope that a lot of fans in town for the football game can come on out and get a preview of our team for this season.”

Auburn is set to open its season with an exhibition game against Anderson University at 2 p.m. on Nov. 9 at home.

The regular season is slated to open on the road at Alabama A&M on Nov. 14, with the home opener against Temple following on Nov. 17.
