AREA ROUNDUP: Beauregard boys finish third at sectional
HOOVER — Beauregard’s boys cross country team claimed third place at the AHSAA Class 5A-Section 3 meet at Spain Park on Thursday.
Nick Homan finished 10th place overall with a time of 19:25. Zach Sollie, Jack McKnight, Jake Cook and Seth Belcher also scored for the Hornets.
The third-place finish qualified the boys team for the state tournament in Moulton next Saturday.
The girls team sent three runners to Hoover, and all three qualified for state.
Seventh-grader Kalynn Simpson finished with a time of 24:00. Susie Thomas and Shelby Dickson also qualified.
