AREA ROUNDUP: Beulah splits with Dadeville

BEULAH — Led by Iesha Crutchfield’s 15 points and Victoria Richardson’s double-double, the Beulah girls basketball team beat Dadeville, 48-40, on Tuesday night.

The Bobcat boys, playing without their leading scorer Jartinez McCants, fell to the Tigers in the nightcap, 56-40.

In the girls game, Crutchfield added six rebounds and five steals on the night, while Richardson scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Ariel Underwood added 11 points, six rebounds and four steals, while Mikesha Stringer and Katlyn Oliver scored 5 and 4 points respectively.

Beulah (7-2, 2-0 in Class 3A-Area 8) will host LaFayette in an area game Thursday.

In the boys game, Dadeville’s Dan Wilkerson led all scorers with 19 points, while Jay Porch and Kyle Sturdivant added 10 apiece. The Tigers improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in Class 3A-Area 8 play.

For Beulah (4-3, 1-1), Justin Harper scored 13 points, while Jordan Wimberly added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Ballard falls to Mt. Zion
JONESBORO, Ga. — The Ballard Christian varsity boys basketball team lost to Mt. Zion, 44-43, on Tuesday.

Mt. Zion hit the game-winning shot with 10 second left and the Eagles were never able to answer as they fell to 4-2 on the season.

Kyle Hammock led Ballard with 19 points and 17 rebounds, Judson Scott added 10 points and Judson Butler scored 9 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

The Ballard JV team also lost, 36-27.

Scott led the JV team (3-1) with 11 points, while Joseph Sullen scored 9 points and recorded 13 rebounds.

The varsity team will play in the Hertiage Christmas Tournament beginning Friday.
