PREP ROUNDUP: Auburn High volleyball beats Central

PHENIX CITY — Auburn High’s volleyball team picked up an early-season win over Central on Tuesday.

The Tigers defeated the Red Devils in four games, winning the first two, 25-18 and 25-21. After falling, 26-24 in Game 3, Auburn wrapped up the match with a 25-11 victory.

Tarnesha Stephens led Auburn with 21 kills, two aces, one assist, three digs and two blocks.

Hayden Pangle had five kills, eight aces and six digs, while Tiffany Radnitz had three kills, two aces, 15 assists and five digs.

Auburn (2-0) plays at Stanhope Elmore next Tuesday.

Auburn 8th-grade football to host jamboree
Auburn’s 8th-grade football squad will host a five-team jamboree on Thursday at 4 p.m. inside Duck Samford Stadium.

Along with host Auburn, team participating include Callaway (Ga.), Beauregard, Tallassee and Alexander City.
