AREA ROUNDUP: Comer keeps Beulah winless
SYLACAUGA — In a battle of winless teams, it was B.B. Comer that broke through with a 12-0 win over Beulah on Friday night.
Kyle Hoover had 51 yards rushing for Beulah (0-7, 0-6). Beulah hosts LaFayette next week.
Ballard 37, Heritage Christian 34
Kyle Hammock was 17-of-30 passing for 333 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for two touchdowns to lead Ballard past Heritage Christian on Friday.
Jud Butler had nine catches for 222 yards and a touchdown, Jacob Hall had 4 receptions for 47 yards and two scores and Ben Causland caught four balls for 58 yards.
William Cahill had 13 tackles and Butler had 11 for the Eagles (7-2, 3-2 ICSGA West Region).
Ballard hosts Covenant Christian next week in its regular-season finale.
Lanett 37, Ohatchee 13
LANETT — Lanett bounced back from two straight blowout losses with an easy win over Ohatchee.
Scutt Morgan had 12 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers (5-2, 4-1 Class 2A-Region 5). Antonio Harper blocked a punt, and Anthony Evans had six carries for 66 yards.
Notasulga 20, Donoho 14, OT
DONOHO — Steven Ricks tossed a 10-yard pass to D.J. Bentley on the first play of overtime to lead the Notasulga Blue Devils to their second win of the season after an 0-10 campaign last year.
Ricks was 8-of-12 for 226 yards and three touchdowns and also had 71 yards rushing. Derek Hart had 73 yards rushing on nine carries.
Bentley caught one other touchdown pass on the night for the Blue Devils (2-5, 2-3 Class 1A-Region 4) and Chris Cannon caught a 50-yarder.
The Blue Devils host Winterboro next week.
