The recruiting list keeps piling up for Troy.
Mike Smith, a 5-foot-9, 180-pound running back from Tallassee, Ala., committed to Troy recently and is Troy’s 18th commit for the 2010 class.
“They were in my top 3 and Troy was the No. 1,“ Smith said. “I want to be close to my parents. I love the Trojans and can’t wait to be a Trojan.“
Smith’s other two choices were Auburn and Alabama State.
According to riverregionsports.com, Smith had more than 2,000 all-purpose yards.
“I can fit into their offense,“ Smith said. “If I get to the outside, I’ve got pretty good speed, but I can lower my shoulder, too.“
Smith said he’s been to one Troy game this year and will take his official visit later.
