Player of the Week: Calvin Jenkins, Auburn High
Jenkins played a huge role in Auburn’s win over previously-unbeaten Smiths Station. The quarterback rushed for 96 yards and scored twice. He also passed for 200 yards and a touchdown and engineered an offense that racked up 471 total yards.
Team of the Week: Beauregard
Beauregard didn’t let playing in imposing Movie Gallery Stadium or on field turf for the first time intimidate it. The Hornets went to Troy and pulled off a huge upset, beating Charles Henderson, 28-16.
Game of the Week: Montevallo at LaFayette
LaFayette quarterback Javontae Holloway hit tight end Tobius Ray with a game-winning touchdown pass with just 49.3 seconds left to lift the Bulldogs to a 28-21 victory over Montevallo.
