Beulah’s Jordan Wimberly (7) tries to bring down Ranburne’s Seth Hornsby in the Bobcats’ loss Friday night.
BEULAH — The chance for Beulah to pick up its first win of the season fell short Friday night, as the Bobcats lost to Ranburne, 44-14, on homecoming.
After Ranburne opened the game with a touchdown, Beulah (0-5), answered with a 22-yard touchdown run by Andrew Anthony with 4:08 to play in the opening quarter.
Ranburne then went on to score 36 unanswered points to take a big lead.
Bobcat quarterback Kyle Hoover scored on a 37-yard touchdown run with 2:25 left in the game, but it was too little, too late.
Hoover finished with 52 yards on seven carries and that touchdown, while Jordan Wimberly had two catches for 46 yards.
Seth Hornsby led Ranburne with 243 yards on 18 carries.
Beulah will travel to face Trinity in a Class 3A-Region 3 matchup.
