GOLF: Haman, McCurdy lead Saugahatchee Men’s Invitational

Bruce Haman and Will McCurdy both shot a 3-under-par 69 at Saugahatchee Country Club on Friday, tying for first place after the first round of the Saugahatchee Men’s Invitational.

McCurdy, who will be a sophomore on Auburn University’s golf team next fall, and Haman lead the rest of the 111-man field by two strokes.

Brent Cooper, Daniel Glidewell and Mark Bichsel (71) are tied for third, Frank Dial and Kevin Lauderdale (72) are tied in sixth, and Mark
Lindsey, Mike Osborn and Russ Lester (73) are knotted at eighth.

The three-round, all-amateur tournament will conclude Sunday.
