SMITHS STATION — The hosts came out swinging against Opelika in the Dixie Youth Majors (11-12) All-Star District 10 tournament final Tuesday.
SJGT MATCH PLAY: McDonald wins stroke play portion; field of 32 set
Wilson McDonald of Mobile carded a final-round 72 on Tuesday afternoon to earn medalist honors after the stroke play portion of the 2009 SJGT Match Play Championship, which is being held at the par-72 Lake Course at the RTJ Trail’s Grand National in Opelika.

VALLEY — Andrew Naismith did not encounter much trouble on the hill against Auburn Blue in the Dixie Youth AAA (9-10) All-Star District 10 final Saturday.
DIXIE ROUNDUP: Auburn Pre-Majors win
THOMASVILLE — The Auburn Pre-Majors (15-16) All-Stars got their second win in a row in the South Sub-State tournament with a 6-1 win over Selma on Saturday afternoon.
