Auburn Majors capture win in first World Series game

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — The Auburn Majors (17-19) All-Stars got off to a good start in the Dixie World Series on Saturday.

Auburn took a 4-1 win over Nashville, Ark., to start things off, led by a near-complete game from Drew Hull and a home run from Creede Simpson.

Hull went 6 2/3 innings and struck out eight before reaching his pitch-count limit, giving way to Reid Carter, who recorded the final out.

Taylor Register had two singles and drove in a run, Will Ruffin had a double and two RBI and Hull, Drake Sasser and Whitt Dorsey all had singles.

Auburn will face Laurel-Jones, Miss., Sunday at 3 p.m.
