DIXIE ALL-STARS: Auburn AAAs fall in state title game

MUSCLE SHOALS — The Auburn Orange Dixie AAA (9-10) All-Star baseball team fell one game shy of its goal to make it to the World Series, losing to AUM, 7-2, in the state championship game Thursday.

AUM advances to the World Series in Laurel, Miss., on Aug. 8.

Rowdey Jordan started off the first inning for Auburn with a single. The next batter, Kason Howell, followed suit, setting up a two-RBI double by Trey Woodham for a 2-0 advantage.

Andrew Naismith gave up just one hit for Auburn on the mound in the first four innings. He also added a double in the loss.

I’m sorry but I have to correct the article.  Woodham hit a one-RBI double to give Auburn Orange the 1-0 lead.  Then Ted Wages gave the Orange the 2-0 lead with an RBI. I wish I could correct it in print…especially when you have a son who is dying to see his name in print.
