MUSCLE SHOALS — After sweating out a 1-0 win over Taylorville on Saturday night, the Auburn Orange All-Stars needed no such dramatics Sunday in the Dixie AAA (9-10) State Tournament.

Auburn Orange took a 14-0 win over Phil Campbell in their second game of the tournament.

Rowdy Jordan got the win on the mound, and combined with Cason Howell for a two-hit shutout.

T.J. Scott was 2-for-2 from the plate with a double for Auburn Orange, and Braxton Knight was also 2-for-2. Jordan batted 2-for-3, and Trey Woodham and Tyler Rabren had a double apiece.

Andrew Naismith, Will Green, Hunter Harper and Turk Pettit all singled in Auburn Orange’s win.

Auburn Orange will have a bye tonight and meet the Hartselle-AUM winner Tuesday.

Auburn Blue wraps up record-breaking run
DECATUR — The Auburn Blue Dixie Majors O-Zone (12) All-Stars fell, 9-3, in the championship game of the State Tournament to Dothan on Thursday afternoon.

But Auburn left its mark on the tourney.

Auburn Blue’s Hunter Roland tied the individual record for home runs in an O-Zone State Tournament with five, and the team broke the record for home runs in a tournament with 16.
