DIXIE ROUNDUP: Beauregard Angels beat Alex City

Beauregard claimed an 11-0 win over Alexander City on Friday night in the Dixie Angels (9-10) District 5 tournament.

Led by four shutout innings from Bailie Barnes and a grand slam and another hit from Jessica Williams, Beauregard moved on to face East Montgomery today.

In the second game of the night at Felton Little Park in Auburn, the Auburn Angels were eliminated from contention after a 13-3 loss in three innings to Montgomery American.

Lauren Wilhite and Anna Grace Key had Auburn’s two hits.

Auburn Ponytails win
SMITHS STATION — The Auburn Ponytails (11-12) All-Stars got off to a good start in their sub-district tournament, taking a 12-1 win over Smiths Station in four innings.

Lea Hix got the win at pitcher. Hix also had a hit, as did Jamiya Moore, Jade Young, Cheyenne Overton, Anna Claire White and Alice Lee Naughton.

Auburn will face Beauregard tonight at 7:30.
