Locals fare well at Kids Golf event

COLUMBUS, Ga. — The U.S. Kids Golf Tour rolled on Thursday at the Bull Greek Golf Course East Course, as several local golfers turned in strong finishes.

Sara Grace Drop of Phenix City (Girls 12) and Turk Pettit of Auburn (Boys 10) brought home individual titles. Drop fired a 48 over nine holes, while Pettit shot 38.

Auburn’s Addison Nix came in just behind Pettit with a 39. Joseph McAdory of Salem finished third in the Boys 9 division with a 59, and Jason Barker of Tallassee came in third in the Boys 14 division with a 114 over 18 holes.

The tour will resume July 6 at Indian Pines in Auburn.
