Locals perform well in U.S. Kids Golf tourney

Several local young golfers played well in a U.S. KidsGolf event held Saturday at the Auburn University Club.

Briana Golden, the only competitor in the Girls 10 Division, shot a 53; Sarah Grace Drop of Phenix City, also the lone competitor in the Girls 12 division, shot a 57; Eli Arwood of Opelika shot a 57 to finish third in the Boys 7 Division; and Addison Nix and Davis Thompson of Auburn finished 1-2 in the Boys 9 Division, with Nix shooting a 37 and Thompson coming in seven shots behind.
