ATHENS, Ga. — Auburn could not come back from a 13-point halftime deficit, and fell at Georgia, 68-56, in a conference game Sunday at Stegeman Coliseum.

TUSCALOOSA — The Auburn swimming and diving team extended its dominance over the Southeastern Conference on Saturday night as the men’s team won its 12th-straight SEC championship and the women’s team earned its sixth team title.

Auburn battered ETSU pitching throughout Saturday’s game and came away with a 12-1 win. The Tigers (2-0) finished with 14 hits. Even more pleasing for Slater, AU had few bad at-bats — pop-ups or strikeouts that failed to advance baserunners or pressure the defense.

As the regular season draws to a close, the Auburn women’s basketball team faces plenty of questions.

Will the Tigers make the NCAA Tournament? Can junior DeWanna Bonner keep up her remarkable scoring pace?

And the most pressing question of all: When will AU find an answer at point guard?

OXFORD, Miss. — Bianca Thomas scored 16 points and Elizabeth Robertson had 14 as reserves led Mississippi to a 76-68 win over Auburn on Thursday night.

TUSCALOOSA — The Auburn men’s swimming and diving team is currently in first place at the 2008 SEC Championships after earning three championships on Thursday.

M.W. “Buster” Milner of Valley was recently inducted into the Alabama ASA Softball Hall of Fame as a slowpitch player.

Auburn will spend the spring trying to identify the top playmakers among a talented group of running backs and a deep collection of receivers.

Reeltown used a strong run early in the fourth quarter, and fought off a Keith rally late, to take a 60-53 victory over the Bears.

MONTGOMERY — Missed opportunities and sketchy free-throw shooting ultimately spelled doom for Lanett’s girls.

MONTGOMERY — R.C. Hatch showed early and often why it is the defending Class 2A boys state champion and the No. 1 ranked team in the state.

The second-ranked Vols (24-2, 11-1 Southeastern Conference) cruised to an 89-70 win over Auburn on Wednesday night in their final game before traveling across the state to face their rival.

The Tigers have bounced back from a rough start to Southeastern Conference play, winning five of their last six games. AU (18-7, 6-4 SEC) is over .500 in conference play for the first time under fourth-year head coach Nell Fortner.

And the Tigers are closing in on their first NCAA Tournament bid under Fortner.

TUSCALOOSA — The Auburn swimming and diving team wasted no time getting thing started Wednesday in the opening day of the SEC Championships as the 800 freestyle relay team of Ava Ohlgren, Caitlin Geary Melissa Marik and Emily Kukors set a new American record.
