Auburn High swept a double header from Tallassee on Saturday.
Auburn won Game 1, 7-1, and followed with a 14-2 win in the second game.
In the opener, Michael King got the win, working two innings and giving up just three hits.
Creede Simpson, Reid Carter and Preston Long each homered.
Game 2 saw Cale Runge get the win, pitching two innings of hitless ball with three strikeouts.
Whitt Dorsey, Simpson and Richard Ross each went 3-for-3 for the Tigers (4-0).
Auburn next plays on Monday against Stanhope Elmore in the Tallassee tournament.
Opelika baseball sweeps in Dadeville
DADEVILLE — Opelika’s baseball team beat Albertville, 6-1, and followed that with a five-inning, 13-0,win over Dadeville.
In Game 1, Spencer Norrell got the win, going five innings, allowing no runs and striking out six.
Jonathon Campbell was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
In Game 2, Chase Dawson went four innings, allowing no runs and striking out 10.
Campbell was 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored while Chance Lawrence was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Opelika (3-0) plays Monday at the Tallassee tournament.
Beauregard splits in doubleheader
HOLTVILLE — Beauregard’s baseball team split Saturday, beating Chilton County, 12-6, before falling to Wetumpka, 6-3.
In Game 1, Hayden Hillyer got the win.
Caleb Cofield and Kyle Brown were each 3-for-3 and Brown had a homer.
In Game 2, Cofield pitched seven innings and allowed just two runs before leaving with the game tied in the eighth inning before Wetumpka’s offense came to life.
Brown was 2-for-4 with a homer in the loss.
Beauregard (3-1) plays against Eufaula in the Coca-Cola Classic at Smiths Station on Wednesday.
AHS edges Sylacuaga in boys soccer
Shaibu Alfa’s goal midway through the first half lifted Auburn High over Sylacauga, 1-0.
Kobi Ankuma made a long throw in to Alfa who ripped the shot from 10 feet.
Keepers James Pudner and Matt Harris split time in the game for the shutout.
Auburn (3-3) plays on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. against Northside at Duck Samford Stadium.
AHS JV sweeps Tallassee on Saturday
Auburn’s JV baseball team beat Tallassee, 11-1 and 3-2, on Saturday.
Trey Gregg got the win in the opener while Todd Thompson was 3-for-4 with a home run. Trey Gregg was also 3-for-4, Tanner Cimo was 3-for-5 and Patrick Carroll was 2-for-4.
In Game 2, Dalton Edwards tripled to score Carroll in the fifth inning for the go-ahead score.
Todd Thompson picked up the win on the mound in relief.
AHS’s JV team plays against Shaw (Ga.) at Opelika High on Monday at 3 p.m.
Glenwood baseball sweeps to open season
BESSEMER — Glenwood won big in a pair of games Saturday, beating Bessemer, 19-2, and Tuscaloosa, 10-7.
In Game 1, Mathew Tooker got the win.
Chad Robinson was 4-for-5 with a double, a homer and six RBI. Tooker was 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI, Austin Allison was 3-for-4 and David Langley was 2-for-4.
In Game 2 Jacob Livingston got the win.
Allison was 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and two RBI, Tooker was 2-for-3 with four RBI, Dudley Taylor was 2-for-4 and Ethan Maske was 2-for-3.
Glenwood (2-0) plays Lakeside on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Glenwood softball gets shutout sweep
BESSEMER - Glenwood’s softball team picked up a pair of 12-0 shutouts over Bessemer on Saturday.
In the two games combined, Victoria Smith was 5-for-7 with three RBI, Brett Wilkerson was 5-for-7 with 4 RBI, Terrell Dixon was 4-for-6 with two RBI and Bree Nowlin was 3-for-6 with four RBI.
Victoria Smith picked up the win in Game 1 while Christine Brown got the Game 2 victory.
Glenwood plays Evangel on Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Montgomery.
