TUSCALOOSA — The Auburn swimming and diving team extended its dominance over the Southeastern Conference on Saturday night as the men’s team won its 12th-straight SEC championship and the women’s team earned its sixth team title.

The men’s team entered the final day of competition at Alabama’s Don Gambril Olympic Pool with a 150-point lead over Florida, its nearest competitor, cruising to a total of 806 points to beat out the Gators by 144 to win the championship.

Auburn’s women trailed after the first two days of competition, but took the lead from Florida on Friday night. The Tigers maintained that lead throughout Saturday’s finals to come away with the 55.5-point win over Florida. Auburn ended the meet with a total of 761.5 points, compared to the Gators at 706.

For head coach Richard Quick, the wins are his first SEC titles.

Softball stays unbeaten with win over Drake
ORLANDO, Fla. — Katie Colton’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth pushed across Kyndall White for the game-winning run as Auburn defeated Drake, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at the UCF Tournament.

Auburn improved to 9-0 with the victory, while Drake dropped to 5-6. The start of the game was delayed four hours and fifteen minutes due to heavy rain in the Orlando area.

Auburn pitcher Anna Thompson moved to 4-0 on the season after striking out a season-high 12 batters and allowing just one hit. The game marked the fourth time in Thompson’s five starts she has not allowed a run.

Puckett wins all-around in Tigers’ loss at Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.Lindsey Puckett captured her second consecutive all-around title and fourth of the season with a career high 39.550 in the Auburn gymnastics team’s (4-6, 0-6 SEC) loss to the Arkansas Gym’Backs (4-4, 2-3 SEC) 195.425-195.950 on Friday.

The Tigers won both the beam and floor competitions, but fell short on bars.

“We had an amazing night,” said Auburn head coach Jeff Thompson. “To tie our season high score after counting a fall shows how great our other three events were this evening. We are still having some issues on bars in competition. We are trying to figure out who will hit under pressure. Despite the falls, this score should propel us close to the top 10 in next week’s rankings.”

Women’s tennis shuts out Jax State, USM
