Derrick Porter is taking his game to the next level. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound wide receiver/kick returner from Beauregard High School committed to Lane College in Jackson, Tenn.
“I’m excited,” Porter said. “I’ve always dreamed of playing college football.”
Porter is expected to sign with the Dragons on National Signing Day, Feb. 4. Porter will also represent the state of Alabama in the inaugural
Georgia-Alabama Indoor Football Classic on Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. in Columbus, Ga. The classic will pit 20 of the best high school football players in the state of Alabama against those from Georgia in an indoor football game.
