TUSKEGEE — Rowdey Jordan and Trey Woodham were each 3-for-3 as Auburn Orange beat Reeltown, 13-3, in four innings to win the Dixie AAA (9-10) All-Star District 10 Sub-District 1 championship Tuesday.
Kason Howell got the win on the mound, throwing all four innings and allowing only three hits.
Andrew Naismith was 2-for-3, Will Green was 2-for-2, Travis Rabren had a triple, and Tyler Rabren added a hit for Auburn.
Auburn next plays in the District 10 tournament, starting Monday at Valley.
Auburn Blue AAAs eliminate Opelika National
VALLEY — Auburn Blue’s Dixie AAA (9-10) All-Star team advanced to the District 10 Sub-District 3 championship game Tuesday night with a 14-5 win over Opelika National.
Auburn will play for title at 6 p.m. today at the Valley Sportsplex against Smiths Station, which beat Beulah, 16-6, in Tuesday’s nightcap. Opelika National is eliminated from the tournament.
Bryan Carter, Brooks Fuller and Noah Barnes combined to pitch a two-hitter, with Carter earning the win.
At the plate, Carter helped himself out, going 2-for-2 with a single and triple and two runs scored. T.D. Roof was 1-for-2 with a home run in the fifth inning. Clay Kiteley hit a three-RBI double in the first inning to spark Auburn Blue.
On Monday, Opelika National lost its first game of the sub-district tournament, 8-1, to Smiths Station.
Auburn Ponytails win sub-district title
SMITHS STATION — The Auburn Ponytails (11-12) All-Star softball team win the Sub-District 5 Championship by beating Valley, 2-1, Tuesday night.
Lea Hix and Sara Jackson combined for 15 strikeouts against 26 batters faced. AnnaKathryn Prestridge, Holly Smithart and Alice Lee Naughton all had hits for Auburn. Scoring the winning runs for Auburn were Sarah Sims Bridges and Prestridge.
Auburn, who was also awarded the Tournament Sportsmanship Trophy, advances to the District 5 tournament in Opelika at West Ridge Park. They will open against Opelika at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Beauregard Angels fall in district title game
The Beauregard Dixie Angels (9-10) All-Star softball team forced a second game in the District 5 championship Tuesday night at Felton Little Park, however, it wasn’t enough to come away with the title.
East Montgomery beat Beauregard, 9-1, to win the District 5 crown.
Taylor Moody had one hit for Beauregard, while Kendal Tucker had two singles.
East Montgomery scored all nine of its runs with two outs in the fourth inning to beat Beauregard.
Beauregard forced the “if-necessary game” by winning 4-1 earlier in the evening. Bailie Barnes earned the win in Game 1, while Chandler Campbell led the charge at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double.
Beulah 11-12s win sub-district crown
The Beulah Dixie Youth (11-12) All-Stars beat Valley, 14-4, in the District 10 Sub-District 3 tournament final at West Ridge Park.
Kyler Fender and Trevon Brown combined on the mound for Beulah in the win. Brown went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and a two-
run home run.
Dustin Hudmon also hit a home run in the first inning.
Beulah will next play in the District 10 tournament next Wednesday in Smiths Station.
Tallassee wins AAA sub-district title
UNION SPRINGS — The Tallassee Dixie AAA (9-10) All-Stars beat Opelika American, 4-0, Tuesday to win the District 10 Sub-District 2 championship.
Opelika 13s win sub-district title
The Opelika Dixie Junior Boys (13) beat Smiths Station, 19-9, Monday night at Duck Samford Park to win the sub-district championship.
Ryan Johnson picked up the win, going four innings with Trey Adkins and Sawyer Stephens coming in to close out the game.
Opelika was led at the plate by Casey Senn with four hits, scoring two runs and four RBI. Jordan Brown added three hits.
Lane Hodges and Johnson added two hits each. Zack Wood added a home run in the win.
Opelika will travel to the district tournament hosted by Montgomery Southern on Friday at noon.
