MONTGOMERY — The Auburn Dixie Junior Boys (13) All-Stars beat Opelika, 13-3, on Monday night, a day after knocking off Smiths Station, 11-1, in the winners’ bracket of the District 5 tournament.
Ryan Leonard earned the win Monday, his second win in two days. He also was 3-for-4 at the plate with two home runs. Justin Carter was 2-for-3 with a home run, while Michael Lee and Demykle Holmes were also 2-for-3.
On Sunday, Leonard won again. JohnAlan Gubbs worked three innings of relief and gave up two hits while striking out three. Carter had three hits at the plate for Auburn, including a two-run home run.
Holmes had three hits, while Jack Hudon and Mitch Muehlenfeld added hits.
