THOMASVILLE — Jackson Norman pitched a complete-game four-hitter to lead the Auburn Dixie Pre-Majors (15-16) to a 3-1 win over Eufaula in the Sub-State tournament on Friday night.
Jordan Hembrick-Holloman led Auburn at the plate with a single and two RBI, and Neely Boston, Trey Phillips and Russell Melton all had hits.
Auburn will play Selma today at 1 p.m.
Auburn Majors defeat Andalusia
THOMASVILLE — The Auburn Dixie Majors (17-19) All-Stars took a 7-2 win over Andalusia behind a 6 1/3-inning, four-strikeout performance from Scott Norrell.
Trey Spratlin pitched the last two outs to close things out.
Chance Lawrence hit a three-run homer for Auburn, Mike Love had a double and an RBI, John Gunnels had three hits and Jace Harper had two hits and an RBI.
Auburn’s second game of the day Friday was incomplete at press time.
Auburn Blue pounds Auburn Orange
VALLEY — Auburn Blue stayed alive in the Dixie Youth AAA (9-10) All-Star District 10 tournament after beating rival Auburn Orange, 13-4, at the Valley Sportsplex on Thursday.
Blue, which had a loss going into the game, got strong pitching performances from Brooks Fuller and Bryan Carter, who held Orange to only two hits.
Harris White was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple for Blue, T.D. Roof was 2-for-3 with a double, and Clay Kiteley was 2-for-2.
Orange, which was undefeated before Thursday, earned a bye to Saturday’s championship game, which will be played at 6 p.m. tonight.
