Ballard once again advanced to the ICSGA Final Four with a 41-31 win over Horizon on Tuesday night in a game postponed from Friday.
Ben Causland led the Eagles with 16 points, Jonathan Stith had 12 and Judson Butler had 7 points and 17 rebounds. Judson Scott also had seven rebounds.
Ballard (13-7) will face North Georgia Christian in the Final Four at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Columbus State University in Columbus, Ga.
Opelika soccer shuts out Robert E. Lee
MONTGOMERY — Zach Chanthongthio had a hat trick and the Opelika soccer team rolled to a 6-0 win at Robert E. Lee on Tuesday night.
Chanthongthio had three goals and an assist, and Roy Sosebee, Vixay Moucangchan and Steven Alvarado had the other three goals.
Joshua Heard and Tim Rodgers also had assists on the day.
Brian Likins and Koty Tyson combined for the shutout in goal for the Bulldogs (2-0), who will host a round robin Saturday featuring boys teams from around the state.
Hoover gets past Auburn High
HOOVER — Goals late in the first and second half helped Hoover edge Auburn High at home, 2-0, Tuesday night.
The Tigers dropped to 0-2 with the loss, and will next hit the pitch next Wednesday at home against Columbus (Ga.) High.
Tallassee sweeps Dadeville
DADEVILLE — Big days from Trey Cochran-Gill and Morgan Faulkner helped Tallassee cruise to a doubleheader sweep of Dadeville on Tuesday.
Cochran-Gill pitched a no-hitter with six strikeouts to pick up the win in Game 1’s 14-2 victory, and also had two hits and two RBI.
Faulkner was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Brad Stone had two hits and two RBI.
Darius Williams got the win on the mound in Game 2’s 16-4 finish, giving up one hit and striking out three in four innings.
Cochran-Gill was 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI, and Faulkner was 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Michael Tinney also batted 3-for-4 with two RBI in Game 2.
The Tigers (2-0) will travel to Stanhope Elmore at 11 a.m. Saturday.
